In tonight's all-new episode of Deadliest Catch, massive storm waves tear up the decks of several ships. Also, Captain Phil of the Cornelia Marie injures his ribs and begins coughing up blood when his crew threatens to quit until he seeks medical attention. New episodes premiere every Tuesday night at 9PM on the Discovery Channel.

Happy DC Tuesday!

I am nervous about tonights episode, but I know the amazing, gorgeous Capt. Phil is doing good now, so keeping that in mind  will help me get through this show. I grimace   everytime they show the preview of Phil getting ill. I just want to take care of him in the best way possible!

DC....you just don't know the gold mine you're passing up by not having more of these guys on the show.  Of course we still LUUUUVVVVV Johnathan and Andy.....we'd NEVER give them up...but there's room enough to show more of Neal and Eddie. They are not only hilarious....but adorable too!

Good morning Sistahs!!!

Its DC Tuesday!!!  Although from the looks of last week's teaser its going to be a tense show.....its still DC TUESDAY!!!!

I am still hoping to make it to chat tonight and if I don't girls, be rest assured the only reason that could keep me away is that I am still having network problems.  I don't know how we can handle the time differences because we don't want to spoil the show for our "Westie Sistahs" but we'll figure out something.  If I am able to sign into chat, I will make sure I'm there during the Pacific time airing as well.

I am going to try to call Phil and Debbie in a few hours to see how they are doing and make sure they are braced for the show.  Debbie has known Phil for many many many many many many..... years (how did ya like how many "manys" I put in there Debbie *snort*) and just last week's teaser upset me all to heck and back so I know Debbie will be tense too.  If I am able to talk to either of them, I'll report back.

I just luuuuuuuuvvvvvv that picture of Phil-licious and the boys!  Those boys are such chips off the block its amazing!  If I were a tad younger.....I'd be chasing after that Josh FOR SURE!

Tami, AT&T is good....I guess.  But here's how I got involved with them.  I had Bell South for landline, DSL, and long distance for many many many many many many..... years and I absolutely loved them.  I had Cingular for my wireless service as well and again....absolutely loved them.  Both companies never ever gave me one iota of trouble.  On the other hand, back before I went to Bell South, I had AT&T and they lied to me one time....I quit them immediately and I would spit at the name AT&T ever chance I got.  So imagine my depression at the first wind that AT&T was going to take over BS and C?????  But all the people I talked to assured me that the original BS people would stay on and I would get the same quality of service.  And I have to say, after a year or so......they have kept their promise.

As for my current problem, the modem that was destroyed by the storm was just a modem....well when I called AT&T about it, they mentioned and offered their new modem/router combination.  I was a little skeptical at first but I told them to send it on.  It arrived over night as they promised but unfortunately, I just don't think the product is worth a @#$%!  And that is not AT&T's fault.  I am sure when I call them and tell them to send me a plain old modem, they will do it in a heartbeat.  But I wanted to give this product the benefit of a little time to see if it would kick in and do the job.

So my vote is this.....if Comcast is giving you good service...stay with them but if ever you want to make a change, give AT&T a try.

we do Tuesday does this cxl out Friday? Not like the computer works when I want it to anyway but I might get lucky.    I would rather watch DC than talk about it at the time personally and the pooper has a track record to hold and if she does I ain't chasing her around with Phil on the air!   Did anyone go see Phil in Morgan Hill on Friday? Just wondering how it went, I had to pass on it.   Glad to hear your weather is cooling, Bunny, so is ours-really cooling! The piece is trying to work too-neat! I will talk to you later.

Thanks for the note Shelli.  I was beginning to get worried.

Girls, I have been trying to find time to scan this picture from People magazine before Father's Day.  So I finally got to scan it but my Internet at home has been down due to storm damage to my modem.  Grrrr  Anyway, here it is....

I don't know how long the image above will stay up because I'm trying out a new photo sharing service so I'll keep checking back to make sure its still visible.  I sure don't want any of yall that might not have seen it to miss it!!!!  Isn't it adoable????  Phil-licious looks soooo good...good enough to eat!  I can't believe I said that!  *wink*

Girls, I will try my best to chat tomorrow night.  I'm having problems with the new modem/routher that AT&T sent me but I'm trying to make time to call them tonight and see if they can get the piece of junk to work.  If not....they are going to have to send me a new modem and I'll go back to my old reliable LinkSys router!  Anyways, looks like tomorrow night is gonna be a BIG scary night so we sistahs are going to need each other to get through it!!!

Hugs to everyone!

OLDER WOMEN

After being married for 44 years, I took a careful look at my wife  one day and said, 'Honey, 44 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a  cheap car, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white  TV, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 25-year-old gal.

Now I have a $500,000.00 home, a $45,000.00 car, nice big bed and  plasma screen TV, but I'm sleeping with a 69-year-old woman.  It seems to me that you're not holding up your side of things.'

Now my wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a hot 25-year-old gal to sleep with , and she would make sure that I would once again be living in a cheap apartment, driving a cheap car, sleeping on a  sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white TV.

Aren't older women great? They really know how to solve a mid-life  crisis.

Hi Everyone,
Well we survived Six Flags yesterday. Hit every BIG coaster in the park by 6 pm and they were ready to go home. Imagine that! I'm still trying to absorb it.  Take a look at Kingda Ka coaster. There are a few videos on You Tube.  I can just about watch it never mind get on it! And I let my kid go....hmmm...how does that work?  They literally launch you up to the top and you go 128 mph. They have to brake you so hard at the end, you never think it would stop.  Get this...they have to ice down the launcher after each car goes! Just like they do on the aircraft carriers!  They whole ride is 18 seconds long!

OK recovering now.....

Finally got caught up on all of DC and After the Catch late last night. Wow! Capt'n Phil  looking good in those interviews!

I'm home by myself thes afternoon. That NEVER happens! Off to find something to do just for me - and NOT. That can wait till later. I'm on strike today.  Have a lovely day ladies!

Good Morning Ladies,

Well, I was able to see the sexiest man alive last night! Woo Hoo!
Capt Phil was in San Diego. I posted a couple pictures on myspace. He was really busy but I was still able to get to chat with him. He says he is getting alot of really great reviews from his coffee line...so buy up ladies!

Claudia, Phil asked me to give you a msg, so check you e-mail or myspace, I posted it twice. He adores you!

Jules, Phil got into town about 2 hours prior to the event. He said to tell you Hi and he will call you. He asked me if I was going to get a harley too...hahahaha, I'm the biggest clutz in the world. I have a hard time keeping my new Jeep on the road properly...I'd kill myself! I kind of had to laugh on that one!

Did everyone see Kadie is doing better, looks like she had had a blessing in her life...Keep praying for her!

I see we have some newbies! Welcome, this is a great site, try and join in on our chats on Friday night 5-5:30 PST, so 8-8:30pm CST. I would love to see the pics from Glocester, please post them.

Well, ladies I hope to make it to chat this evening. Hope this finds everyone doing well!

My son's BS was way back in February but he wanted to celebrate it in summer, so tomorrow 5 of us are off to Six Flags.  Three 13 yr old boys and me and my hubby. God help us. And any other appropriate icons....and I don't drink.

Are all the kiddies out of school yet around the board?? And so it begins.

Afternoon ladies,
Just got back from being out in the heat all day and I was a mite dehydrated - ugh. Some dizzy and some wobbly and that was after a quart of Gatorade.  Had to come home and regroup!

Missed chat last night - arghhhh! I had to be out and by the time I got home it was too late.

Had a GREAT time Thursday night. When we were in college (just a short time ago - yea, right! ) my hubby and I were on the ski racing team. We were part of the first team at the college and - get this - it was me and 13 guys on the team. It still makes me chuckle.  Anyway, 6 of us got together Thursday night - yep, me and 5 guys. My hub was in Philly for the day on business but I wasn't going to miss seeing my teammates!  We've aged just a wee bit but dang we all look good!  We had a really nice dinner and decided to do a big party in the fall with all the members of the team from 5 years of racing. I can't wait!

Has everyone ordered their Deadliest Brew yet?? Ours came today just in time for Father's Day!  Ordered the Greenhorn and will let you know how it was.

OK, have yourself a great rest of the weekend!

Hello Ladies!!!

Long time no see.  Sorry I've been MIA, but I have just been so busy with this new job and my nice long commute.  Oh well...at least the job is interesting and it pays and I get benefits.  So it's all worth it.

I'm trying to catch up on things at home.  If I were smart I would have trained the dogs to do housework, but alas...So now I'm stuck trying to catch up on all the things here.  It would be nice to see Phil, but he is making his appearance on a Friday and that just sucks.  Traffic will suck...I will have to race home after work and feed the dogs and get ready and then I would have to do that 3+ hour drive down there.  Maybe for a private dinner, but I don't know about standing in a line of fans for the slim chance I might see him again.  Oh well...we shall see.  It would be nice to have a little more information than just the city and the state.  How about narrowing it down to a1/2 mile radius.

Well...I will pop in a little later.  I gotta dash so I can make an appointment.  Have a great day!!!

I am very excited to take these back to the volunteers helping with this project and get started on them.  I did think about a silent auction and I have several local businesses that are willing to help.  I have also emailed several celebrities, including our captains, about helping out as well and musicians and I have gotten a great response from them too.  But is it any surprise that our captains would be there for us? I am soooo excited about this project, but May 2009 isn't that far away, so we have a lot of planning and fundraisers to do.

Or the car wash is another good one, if a local carwash will donate part of its profits, get some kids out there on a Sat. Wash some cars and poof! a few bucks ......OMG!!!!! flash backs to the NewOrleans Dance Competitions.....* OK but the Car wash and the cookie sales do pull in some good honest cash

OK, I'm a big animal lover, I take in all the poor kitties in transit, at work I feed the ""lost"" farmers dog...... when I moved into my brothers old house there was a HUGE cat problem. Got some if not all the kitties into good homes with a promise from a local Barn Cat Ass.c.. that if I would get the shots and all done...barring the nuetering and spaying asthat cost major bucks here, that they would send farmers my way looking for barn cats...well.....I'm 2 months from moving and no cute cowboys on the way to save the day. No local ""no kill shelters". I have the option of leaving them to fend for them selves.....or traveling 2 1/2 hours with semi feral kits in an open top jeep to Reno in hopes they take them...suggestions?  Ummmmmm I really do love my jeep by the way...and nothing gets out cat P... so please, if any one has a suggestion...please help LOL. Hey ladies!
Well I'm really happy to be home right now. There was NO air conditioning at work today. It was over 100 degrees in the office and boy am I shot.  The ac guy came around 10 and by 4 pm, it was a balmy 82 in the office.  ugh....and now I have to get my back end over to the baseball field for a game.  I sure don't mind the heat, but when the temperature is 98 and the humidty is about 80%, it feels like 115 out there.

Bubbs! Are you melted yet???

Dana! Great news to hear the wheels of progress turning!  I've been called the fundraising queen of the horse rescue. You've come to the right place! Some great ideas have been thrown out there already. They work well.  The best fundraiser is the one that bring in the most money with the least amount of work. This way no one burns out.

The ideas Bubbs gave you about the chain restaurants is a good one! Also as Robin said,  the zoos and theaters (movies or community theater) will sell you group rate tickets and then you sell them for the full price.  Tip: Pick a movie or play that is kid-friendly - the parents will take the whole family rather than just the parents going!  We are doing a zoo trip right now and the tix are $4 and we are selling them for $10.  The community theater ones are good too. We've made as much as $15 per ticket.  Same with pro sports teams if you have them near you  We do Devils hockey games, 2 or 3 a year and make about $10 per ticket.  We have easily 50 people go every time.

A silent auction is a big draw. We make about $6000- $7000 on our little auction every year.  The trick here is to contact local businesses to donate a basket or gift cards, etc.  Restaurants, theme parks,
even put it in the newspaper that you are looking for theme baskets to be donated for your auction. We wind up with about 60 baskets every year.  Another tip: have an array of prices so that thems that have $ will bid on the bigger ticket items and even the kids can bid on say a stack of books. So you are not depending on one price range to make your money.

We have a water park here called Dorney Park. They have a great idea. THey ask for volunteers from an organization to fill in on busy days at the park doing all sorts of jobs for an 8 hour shift.  The park pays $50 for each volunteer to the organization !  You might be able to work out a similar deal at a large amusement park near you.

There's tons of grant money available out there too. You just need to spend a few hours google-ing foundations that will support a cause like yours.  I looked up "animal welfare grants" and similar wording and got a bunch of possiblities.  You might want to look up Newman's Own website. They do a broad range of funding.  It takes time to search, but might be worth a few thousand in the end.

Use your network!  Anyone that has any connection to anything!  We had some friends that love line dancing and they set up a dance night for beginners. They taught several dances and had the dance "regulars" come as well. We charged $10 a person to come. We had snacks, a cookie baking contest (cost $1 per vote for the best cookies) and a small silent auction.  All told we pulled in $2000 there.  Someone at the end of the night donated the $400 cost to rent the club! ! ! You NEVER know!

OK I'm out of breath and I got to go to that dang game. E-mail me if you want. We can chat more. I have a few more ideas up my sleeve.

PS, your brother will make sure this will go off without a hitch. I believe that with all my heart.

Hello everyone.

Dana, for your fundraiser why not try a Poker Run.  The bikers here do alot of these to help people raise money for projects.

You could also do a calander project for the community.  Lists birthday and anniv.  Everyone who would like to be on the calander pay a certain price for the dates then they get the calander also.  Our Lion Club does this one.

If a friend sells candles or something like that(something that the school kids don't sell), tupperware parties etc. with the profit going to your group.

You could have parties of all types.  In my area they have a Civil War Ball every November to raise funds.  They have a big turnout everyyear.

Good luck in your project.

wow this heat is something! they are letting our kids out of school on 1/2 day because there is only 1 classroom in the whole school with a/c in the wall. ive been basically hiding in the pool and hot tub, it turned out kinda fun though because some of the neighbors couldnt handle the heat either and we ended up with them in our pool.

ok dana what we do here to help raise funds for tball and sports and such is we have a local food chain, like chilis, fuddruckers, ritas ice cream etc. when anyone from any of the teams goes there to eat on a certain day between like 7 and 9pm the resteraunt donates 10% of the proceeds back to us. that might be an avenue to take for fund raising.

omg helen how horrible that mustve been for that poor baby! i swear i would love to take a baseball bat to someone who could even fathom the thought of hurting an animal or a child, those are the 2 things that get my hackles up!. kiss the pony on the nose from auntie bubbs please, i will light her a candle. and as for assaulting your hubby i say we sistahs might need to take a road trip to straighten this trash out!. oy some people ill tell ya!

well we are coming down to the wire here for school tab gets out on the 19th, then its beach bum time my favorite time of the year!. her recital was so cute they did hip hop to "jungle love", theres just something about 6 yro dancing that makes it so cute.
and it can make one quite emotional too, there was a little one in the next group of dancers and at first we noticed she wasnt bending like the rest of the lil ones and lo and behold we realized she had 2 prosthetic legs, as soon as i saw it i couldnt help it, the football came and i couldnt swallow it, so there i sat like a blubbering idiot, she was so wonderful with her lil arms going and her lil pig tails swinging i thought God bless her shes doing it! well at the end of that one the whole isle of us mothers were in tears. it was just so amazing!

ok i have to go show a house bgood i miss gabbin with all of you just remember, just cuz i dont see you doesnt mean im not thinking about you!

Subject: Smart A$$ Answers of the year the last one is the best

These are really funny... Enjoy!

THE 6 BEST SMART-A$$ ANSWERS OF 2007:

SMART A$$ ANSWER #6
It was mealtime during a flight on American Airlines.
'Would you like dinner?' the flight attendant asked John, seated in front.
'What are my choices?' John asked.
'Yes or no,' she replied.

ANSWER #5
A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets.
As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her.
Without missing a beat, she said, 'Sir, I need to see your ticket not your stub.'

ANSWER #4
A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family.
She asked a stock boy, 'Do these turkeys get any bigger?'
The stock boy replied, 'No ma'am, they're dead.'

ANSWER #3
The cop got out of his car and the kid who was stopped for speeding rolled down his window.
'I've been waiting for you all day,' the cop said.
The kid replied, 'Yeah, well I got here as fast as I could.'
When the cop finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his way without a ticket.

ANSWER #2
A truck driver was driving along on the freeway.
A sign comes up that reads, 'Low Bridge Ahead'.
Before he knows it, the bridge is right ahead of him and he gets stuck under the bridge.
Cars are backed up for miles.
Finally, a police car comes up.
The cop gets out of his car and walks to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips and says, 'Got stuck, huh?'
The truck driver says, 'No, I was delivering this bridge and ran out of gas.'

ANSWER OF THE YEAR 2006:
A college teacher reminds her class of tomorrow's final exam.
'Now class, I won't tolerate any excuses for you not being here tomorrow.
I might consider a nuclear attack or a serious personal injury, illness, or a death in your immediate family, but that's it, no other excuses whatsoever!'
A smart-a$$ guy in the back of the room raised his hand and asked, 'What would you say if tomorrow I said I was suffering from complete and utter sexual exhaustion?'
The entire class is reduced to laughter and snickering.
When silence is restored, the teacher smiles knowingly at the student, shakes her head and sweetly says,
'Well, I guess you'd have to write the exam with your other hand.'

Hey Dana, how about talking to a movie theater or zoo or something like that and trying to get a percentage of the enterance fee for a day to go to the fund? I am sure someone would be interested in the cause. Or maybe a carwash for the weekend? You could give out a small ribbon or sticker for the car for the cause.

HELLO SISTAHS!  I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND!! ON TO ANOTHER GRUELING WEEK!

I hope all is well with everyone! Everything is going great here, just staying busy. I am trying to get Dylan all ready to go to church camp next week and I will tell ya that I am so nervous. This is the first time he has been away from me since his seizures have worsened and I don't know how well Mom will be next week! I may have to have the doctor call me in some valium! lol!!!

Okay, I also have a favor to ask all of you! Since I have such beautiful and wonderfully talented sistahs, I knew y'all were the right ones to ask. As you know, my cousin was killed in the line of duty December 1998. A year after his death, they had planned on building a fallen officer memorial, but the plan was pulled after several of the people involved got all pissy about where it should be placed.  Well, after almost 10 years, we are finally getting the memorial and I am sooooooo excited about it!!!! Know here comes the favor! lol!!! I need any and all fundraiser ideas that y'all have.  I have thought about a silent auction and possibly a pancake breakfast or hamburger dinner but after that, not a clue. The total cost of the monument will be anywhere from $10 to $20,000 dollars and they want to unveil it on May 15, 2009 on National Fallen Police Officers Memorial Day.  So, we have to raise a lot of money in very little time.  Any ideas, thoughts, you name it, through 'em at me!!!

I hope everyone has a great week! Take care of yourselves and hopefully I will make it to chat next weekend!  I love y'all!!  Big hugs!!!!
