Hey Ladies!
I'm still on west coast time here and a little slow on the uptake this morning. BUT, thought I should fill you all in on our vacation to the Seattle section of our trip. Alas, no Phil reports.....
We went to visit the Sea Star and on the way got lost - we were reading the directions for a bridge crossing that was supposed to be from the opposite direction! We wound up on the shipyard end of the port instead of the Fisherman's Terminal end of the port. My husband and I agreed that we were definitely in the worng place and made a turn down a street so we could make a U-turn. Well, there was a public dock next to the shipyard down that road and lo and behold - -the Wizard was in dry dock getting repaired - remember the hole ??? Captain Keith was on deck and HE waved to US and said Hi! WOW! We didn't even realize it was him until we heard his voice. So of COURSE we waved back. That was so cool. He was on the phone at the same time, so we didn't get the chance to say anything else. We thought it was neat that he took the time to wave.
Then a little further down, the Northwestern was also there. No Hansen brothers to be found tho.
I have to say, the thing that impressed us the most was how much smaller the boats looked in real life than on the show. Holy cow, when I think of the size of the waves and the size of the boats - geez these guys are a little twisted to so that job- to use a Phil description!
The Sea Star was a cool tour as well. My hub took a picture of me sitting in a pot! We met Kenny Hendricks and got a picture with him too. Nice guy and a true Old Salt! It was amazing again how small these boats are. One lady that was on the boat at he same time said - can you imagine all those stinky guys down here in close quarters like this???? Ya had to laugh!
OK that's it for now. Got to do the mountain of laundry before I go back to work tomorrow - ugh.
P.S. For you fellow High Country lovers out there....it was 37 degress and snowing at 6700 feet when we went to Mt Rainier on Monday -BUT the Mountain Was Out! YEA!!

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing
- imagine that! When I found this recipe, I thought it as perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.
BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN
6-7 lb. baking chicken
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHERS LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping sounds.
When the chicken's ass blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it is done.
And you thought I couldn't cook ;-)

A word of advice: When closing a car/truck door, be sure your hand is out of the way!!!!!! i done did go and needed 7 stichem-ups on my thumb!!!! 4 on the back 3 on the front, i about de-gloved my thumb!!!
OUCHIE!!!! I'm sure it's gonna hurt once the novocaine wears off. Good thing it's friday,,,drinkin night. AND,, weird me out, while this was happening, my hub kept calling home, he just knew sumthin happened.
Luckily though, we had JUST JUST got insurance like less than 2 weeks ago, so i guess maybe i am test driving it LMAO!!!
Deb, thank you for being so honest about just now finding the box, I totally understand crap happens, but what gets me is, you haven't cleaned out your car in 2 yrs??? I am a loyal member of *The Peggy Bundy method of cleaning* I guess that can apply to cars too, wanna join?? LOL
That would be awesome if Cream Cheese calls, guess we will see huh?

Garden Grass Snakes can be dangerous. Yes grass snakes. Not rattlesnakes. Here's why. A couple in Sweetwater , Texas , had a lot of potted plants. During a recent cold spell, the wife was bringing a lot of them indoors to protect them from a possible freeze. It turned out that a little green garden grass snake was hidden in one of the plants, and when it warmed up, it slithered out and the wife saw it go under the sofa. She let out a very loud scream. The husband (who was taking a shower) ran out into the living room naked to see what the problem was. She told him there was a snake under the sofa. He got down on the floor on his hands and knees to look for it. About that time the family dog came and cold-nosed him on the behind. He thought the snake had bitten him; so he screamed and fell over on the floor. His wife thought he had had a heart attack, so she covered him up, told him to lie still and she called the ambulance. The attendants rushed in, wouldn't listen to his protest and loaded him on the stretcher and started carrying him out. About that time, the snake came out from under the sofa and the Emergency Medical Technician saw it and dropped his end of the stretcher. That's when the man broke his leg and why he is still in the hospital. The wife still had the problem with the snake in the house; so she called a neighbor who volunteered to capture the snake. He armed himself with a rolled-up newspaper and began poking under the sofa. Soon he decided it was gone and told the woman, who sat down on the on the sofa in relief. But while relaxing, her hand dangled in between the cushions, where she felt the snake wriggling around. She screamed and fainted; the snake rushed back under the sofa. The neighbor seeing her lying there passed out tried to use CPR to revive her. The neighbor's wife who had just returned from shopping at the grocery store, saw her husband's mouth on the woman's mouth and slammed her husband in the back of the head with a bag of canned goods, knocking him out and cutting his scalp to a point where he needed stitches. The noise woke the woman from her dead faint, and she saw her neighbor lying on the floor with his wife bending over him. So she assumed he had been bitten by the snake. So she went to the kitchen and got a small bottle of whiskey and began pouring it down the man's throat. By now the police had arrived. They saw the unconscious man, smelled the whiskey, and assumed that a drunken fight had occurred. They were about to arrest them all, when the women tried to explain how it all happened - over a little green snake. The police called an ambulance which took away the neighbor and his sobbing wife. Now again the little green snake crawled out from under the sofa, and one of the policemen drew his gun and fired at it. He missed the snake and hit the leg of the end table. The table fell over; the lamp on it shattered, and as the bulb broke, it started a fire in the drapes. The other policeman tried to beat out the flames, and fell thru the window into the yard on top of the family dog, who got startled jumped out and raced into the street, where an oncoming car swerved to avoid it, and smashed into the police car. Meanwhile, the burning drapes were seen by neighbors who called the fire department. The firemen had started raising the fire ladder when they were halfway down the street. The ladder tore out the overhead wires and put out the power and disconnected the telephones in a ten-square block area (but they did get the house fire out). Time passed! Both men were discharged from the hospital; the house was repaired; the dog came home; the police acquired a new car, and all was right with their world. A while later the wife and her husband were watching TV and the weatherman announced a cold snap for that night. The wife asked her husband if thought they should bring in their plants for the night. I need to say a huge thank you to all the warm thoughts, e-mails & prayers. I was sitting in a deep deep pit on Saturday, then on Sunday, I heard the voice of God calling me to Him. Amazing what a week & a WHOLE lotta prayer will do for one's spirit! Still hard money wise, but things are getting better, and I take it 1 day at a time...sometimes 1 hour at a time! Thanx again, Sistahs!
I'm looking forward to it...2 weeks to go before the Hillstrands are in my radar!!!! And...I'm still hoping here...maybe Russ will join them? I've worked some overtime at work the past few weeks - so there IS a benefit of having a tropical storm pass by! - so I'm planning on enjoying my Hillstrand visit. My boys still don't know about them coming, so it'll be interesting to see thier faces!

Ladies, Good Morning from the Windy City!!! and I don't mean Chicago. This Windy City is Jacksonville Florida. The wind is blowing and the rain is coming down. I've got my waders on and my bottle of Jose in hand, let it rip!
I am sending a call out to the Ladies that wanted to sign the copy of the Time Bandit book. I need to know where the book is. I sent it to Claudia and haven't heard anything since.
Johnathan and Andy are scheduled to be Tampa the first week of September and that is when I was going to give it to them.

Deb *** Thank you SO much for the update on Phil. I think about him so much since I had my scare last month and was in and out of the hospital most of the month. Please give him a hug and my thoughts are with him daily. Glad to hear is doing better!

omg {{{{{{{{rootin,tootin,mootin!!!}}}} now theres a name i havent seen in a while how are you!!, helen you have a pretty candle burning for you right now sweetie take heart, the man upstairs hears everything like a jewish mother!, lol. (i can say that cuz theres jewish in my family so please dont get insulted). ohhh look at them lil piggies, god bless you for having a strong heart to say bfast,lunch,dinner. i swear id be the worst farmer ever id spend all my time getting attached to and playing with the animals and never be able to kill anything and starve to death. right now im wishing i could kiss their lil noses!. congrats on being a g-ma!! woohoo babies are so neat, i wish i was able to have more but it seems God just wanted to give me one really great one as opposed to 5 id rip my hair out with. i had a really neat experience, back in may i got a call from my friend who runs a preschool at our local church, the one tab used to go to. she was short on staff and needed an administrative asst. and asked me to help out a couple days a week, it has turned out to be a really really neat thing. i work in the school library, im a sub in the classrooms and i get in trouble cuz i have a hoot with the kids and then i cant calm them down, but i also type the program for the church as well as the prayer list. well...ive had phil on there since the episode aired where he got sick they have prayed every sunday since but people who realize that it was me who put him on there are asking "isnt that the guy on discovery channel?" etc. one guy has family that fishes off of maine and he said omg i was so worried about that guy i feel a kinship with all of em because of my family. i put in a request to the administrators of the church (my boss laughed at me) to order captains brew coffee at the church because on sunday after mass they serve bfast and coffee so who knows they may approve it. so much for the jewish/native american, scottish chick from the armpit of the usa working in a church of all places, i just thought it was pretty funny how far reaching this show has gone. i also expect to see lightning and hear a thunderous voice laughing and yelling "get out" when i walk into the rectory! well hope all is well with everyone i miss you all so much between real estate, school and tabitha my plate is always full and i appreciate every minute, but i sure miss gabbin with everyone.

Hi all sorry for not writing lots have been going on also with claudia and gayle busy weird summer and yes they as well as phil are totally disgusted with me cuz i never got buddy fixed so i now have a new litter of baby pigs. Phil is going to come over and help me take bud to the vet so this will stop...He says hi he truly thought you guys had all forgotten about him when it slows down for him i might get him to surprise you in the chat room one night you know i'll have to do the typing as his brain and his mouth out work his hands figure that one out girls....He is negotiations for his work gayle could tell ya more about than i as i never listen long enough when he tells me about that..and these meet and greets are pretty gruely but he is having a good time with them. Health wise he is doing wonderfully i am really proud of him but don't ever tell him i said that i would only deny it..lol I was cleaning out my car and cathy i found your box in the back i was sure i had given it to gayle i am soooo sorry anyway i won't be seeing him for a couple of weeks but hang in there you will get your birthday call it just can't be on the 20th so sad... he will be flying most of that day and he is just spent when he is on the planes for long periods.. but he is going to be slowing down at least that is what he said this morning we shall see not going to hold my breath.. The boys are doing well and have had a spectacular summer i think they are truley faring better than the old guys..well got to run hope all is well with you nice to see new as well as old friends on this site i do have one question for you all though what the hell happened to T???? try to get into chat soon as i know you all love asking the wouldn't ask anyone else questions about phil he just cringes when i tell him i have a couple of glasses of wine and just simply spill my guts...lol take care guys hugs deb

Well I am in mourning. My summer vacation is officially over.
Teachers had to report back today for my school system. However it was good to see the returning teacher and meeting the new teachers at my school, but I hate sitting through professional development at the beginning of the year which I have sit through before but it is part of the job.
On a positive note I am ready for my students to walk through my classroom door.
At this time I am already to sit back and have a cool one!

I have a small favor to ask. I haven't posted here for a while, but I still don't have the internet back on @ the house (8 months now...). I know noone else is different, but finacially right now...well, I'm really really tight. I know it will get better, but right now I'm sitting in the middle of the darkened train tunnel. I do see a light up ahead, but finding it hard to get up to walk towards it.

I have not been chatting lately as my health issues have taken over my time. Hopefully they are getting better and I will get a better report after my next blood tests.
Teachers report to work on Monday the kidos the next Monday so back to the routine. I can hardly wait to see what will unfold this year. Florida as some of you may know grades their schools--we have been an "A" school for the six years I have been there--no swo this year "B" now. I imagine that the principal must have had a fit when the grades came out. I am not looking forward to the brow beating we will get but I am interested in the ideas of what we are going to do to get back to the "A" status.
Well, DC is on here in about 15 minutes so I have to enjoy this last day's viewing for awhile.

I just heard a story on the news about a guy who called 911 because his Subway sandwich was missing it's sauce. Then he called 911 again to complain that the police weren't responding fast enough to his first call. Hopefully no one was getting mugged or having a heart attack while he was busy diverting our emergency personnel for his lunch crisis. Good grief...
Gotta go- I've started up my side business of making custom floral arrangemants again, and I'm about to pitch a wedding package to someone. Wish me luck, ladies! Later...

Well, after long last I finally get a computer to work at the house. I still don't have internet back, so my internet time is still limited.
I'm counting down the next month....Andy & John will be in Tampa @ the boat show....and YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I am off work & going!! If I have to walk there in this heat & humidity in barefeet - then so be it! Finally - my turn to meet them! Bubble wrap is being in bulk to wrap the kids up in - and there will be NO horse riding until AFTER the event!
Glad to see everyone is doing well, and I'm already begun the shakes from withdrawls....Tuesday nights just won't be the same....

HELLO EVERYONE!!! I hope everyone has had a great week! Luckily tomorrow is Friday. Not much is going on here. We have been swamped at the funeral home. I guess mine and my husband's profession is a profession you hate to say "I wish business would pick up." This past week and a half we have had 12. Usually this time of the year we start picking back up. We have had some good news in the past few weeks. Mike, my hubby, is now running the Durant Funeral Home. He is the funeral director in charge. He also passed his test and now has his insurance license. I finished my summer semester at school and now have two weeks off before the Fall semester starts. Dylan got his braces on Tuesday. The ortho told him he has to wear them for 2 years. He was sooooo excited to get them and I kept telling him that braces aren't a walk in the park, but of course I am dumb since I am a parent and he knows all because he is 13!!! Anyway, he has only had them on 2 full days and he is already begging me to have them taken off. Teenagers, you can't kill 'em....that's it!!! lol!!! (This is the part I would have put a smilie, but I can't seem to pull them up lately. Any of you have this problem?)
Shelli - thanks for all your prayers for Dylan and I are family. Despite what the doc says, I still believe he will outgrow them. I look back to last year and I think the seizures he was having then are nothing compared to now. I wish they were that easy now. However, we just take everything as it comes. I hope all is well with you. Have a great weekend sistah!! Big Hugs!!!

Bubbles - My sister-n-law is going through the lapband thing too and she is having the same problems. She has lost 90 lbs and looks fantastic. Her health problems have gotten better as well. I wish you all the success in the world. I will keep you in my prayers. Thanks for thinking of Dylan and my family as well. We are taking everything one day at a time and dealing with it as it comes. As Bubbles, Shelli, and I have talked about. I think we all ought to petition the Discovery Channel and tell them we want more episodes. I think they ought to put together a bloopers reel as well. You can't tell me that with our captains that there isn't some great blooper material laying on the cutting room floor. It is definitely something to think about. What is everyone else's thoughts?

I've been out of the loop a bit. We had a sudden death in the family over the weekend - ANOTHER ONE for pete's sake! Geez I'm telling you....between one death in May, another now and my father-in-law in the hospital for 9 weeks. What a summer it has been... Enough already! OK, that's 3 bad things, so now go pick on someone else.

I purposely refrained from watching the last 2 episodes until I buy the series on DVD. It took a lot of self-restraint, but I did it! That way, I have something to look forward to in the coming weeks. Self-denial is a fine line between pleasure and pain...

ugghh i am so depressed the season is over already i felt like it just got started dont they have some bloopers or editors cuts that they can put on. dang, 8 months of waiting and 4 months of woohoo! no fun!!! or better yet do a once a week, after the catch live. yes cathy when i said moronic problems i meant no backstabbing, no one stealing our identities, etc. it was pretty kewl though one of the ladies at work had mentioned to our maintenance guy that i was a die hard dc fan and he was like omg i watch it all the time, my family are lobster fishermen out of Maine, so its kinda like being home when i watch. i thought it was pretty neat.
i am currently trying to find my body under what seems to be loose skin uggh. when i started this journey and got the lapband to get the weight off, i knew it was a possibility now that its a reality im freaking. my visions of standing in front of a fan naked and hearing my skin flap in the breeze are coming true. my once a week spa treatment is at least keeping the stretch marks to a mimimum, to look on the brighter side. the good thing is blood pressure is healthy again, blood sugar and cholesterol are reaching normal levels, im going shopping soon!! my clothes are starting to get that burlap bag look to them again, lol. talk about mixed emotion!!. hubby keeps promising that when all is said and done i can have whatever cosmetics done i want, look out joan rivers my body will see more knives than benihana.
ok i know this is long but i havent seen or gabbed in such a long time. i was so sorry to hear that dylan is still having seizures, hang in there and no i learned a long time ago the dr.s are not always correct go with your gut!. i had to giggle when i saw the post about jonathans gf, cmon now there is no possible way that men this friggin hot are going to be single unless they choose to be. just one look and most women are puddles at their feet. ok i put phil on our church's prayer circle, i made him his own personal candle circle and pray over it every night, the shaman russell is sending out healthy waves, i wish phil was closer so he could get a treatment, i love this shaman! we are doing a sweat lodge in a few weeks woohoo i cant wait. just a quick thingy and then ill shut up, my older sis is in a very bad marriage and has been for 20 yrs, he doesnt hit her or anything like that but he drinks and when i say drinks i mean he doesnt come home for days at a clip and then when he does hes passed out on the couch etc. or picking on their daughter or just yelling at everyone, although she has told him it is over to leave for the past 3 years he wont and she is absolutely petrified to make a move on a divorce. when she started telling me about russell her neighbor who is a shaman i thought wow pretty neat, then she met 2 of her other neighbors who are sisters from chile, they are healers, together with russell they do a "laying on of hands" last month they did one on russells sister who has cancer and the doctors cant figure out where her cancer went its not in remission its just plain gone! i cant help but think God knew my sister was on a rough road and has chosen to surround her with such spiritual, good energy. ok ill shut up now lol, i miss you guys i luv ya and someday i will make it in to chat, why dont we just start chatting all the time instead of set times?

Hi Everyone!
Wanted to thank Kate, Shelli, and anyone else that enjoyed the pics of Captain Phil for the kind words. Just want wanted everyone to see that he's okay.
There was a promo in Anacortes on 7.26.08 and Captain Phil and Josh were there to sign autographs. Jake was supposed to come but couldn't make it. While talking to Capt. Phil I started teasing him about being "McDreamy" and he shook his head and said, "No, that's not me!". I begged to differ with him and said he's still McDreamy and Johnathan's McSteamy. Perhaps he was a tad embarrassed... dunno.
I told him I found this site about a week ago and he was, indeed still McDreamy. He said he didn't even know the site was still active. I told him that although I just began coming here, I know there is a chat on Friday nights and there was chat on Tuesdays during the show. He seemed a little surprised, although pleasantly so.
My thought is that perhaps something can be done for Captain Phil along the lines of what has been started for Captains Johnathan and Andy with the book signing.
It would be fun to surprise him with something that says he is thought about and still luved. My guess is he's probably had enough get well type things so perhaps the focus should be elsewhere. What do ya think?

Well ladies, sorry to tell you but Johnathan is hooked up with a woman from Indiana who calls herself "Thalia." You'll find her on his MySpace page and he on hers. She's definitely a pretty woman, even if her page is "all about her." Whatever, as long as he's happy, right? For you nonbelievers, just call him up and ask him when he gets back home.

Hope all is good with everyone....guess our mourning period has begun once again. I agree with Dana that there has got to be so much footage laying on the editing floor. Discovery channel should just throw it all on some DVD's. They would not need to edit or tell a story, but just give us the extra moments that have been captured on film...OK, rant over! haha
Dana, I am so sorry to hear things have gotten worse for Dylan. I still keep him in my prayers. I hope things get better for him and you. This must be really difficult for you both. Wish there was something I could do to help you, I will keep praying for you two.
Helen from Seattle, thanks for sharing the pictures. Love the new paint on Phil's Titan. Phil looks good, hopefully he keeps getting better everyday. At least he is home and enjoying himself, I know he is still traveling but not as much. Jakers and Josh are so adorable! They are two great guys, Phil has done a great job with those two.
Well, before I type a book here, let me just say that April to too far away! Season 4 was a blast, but Phil's health was a very scary event we were all privy too. I'm glad the Capt and Crews are all safe and sound and can not wait until Season 5.

Hi Everyone!
It's a gloomy day here in Seattle so far. Perhaps it's because the last episode for this DC season aired last night. Kind of how I'm feeling today too so perhaps it's appropriate. lol
As promised the other day I put my pics in a slide show to share. Check 'em out and enjoy. You can see that Captain Phil has a nice tan and is getting out and about. I asked how he was feeling and he said "so-so". He's strong and isn't letting anything slow him down though.

Hey everyone! I guess everyone is in mourning that this season's DC is over!!! What are we going to do? I think that they need to make the seasons longer. Surely there is enough footage for a few extra episodes!
Bubbles -Good to see ya! How is everything going with you? Dylan is still having seizures. We have had seven ambulance rides this past month. I can't believe I complained about them last year, because up until now, those were a walk in the park. His seizures are ten times worse and the doc told us that he feels puberty is bringing this on. Doc said to get ready because they will probably get worse before getting better. Worse? God help us if they do. I have been hanging on by a thin thread that he would grow out of these. His doc has always told us by puberty 98%of the time they outgrow them. Now they are telling us that he will never outgrow them. But,I think that doctors have been wrong before, they can be wrong here. So I still hold out hope. Keep him in your prayers. I love ya my sistah!!!

Hey y'all. It's been a long time since I posted ...I read almost everyday but just don't have time to post anymore. I started a new job and I don't know what i am doing yet. 9 hour days 5 days a week...get home in time for dinner and then just relax for a little bit before I work on packing. I am loving it.
I can't believe tonight is the last episode of the season...I have watched all of them I just haven't caught all of AtC, but they are Tivo'd and I will start watching them next week and re watching DC too.
My daughter graduated and I got this new job close to my parents house so Dustin and I are moving to Seguin and my daughter is staying in San Antonio to go to college. It is gonna be strange not having her at home even though it is just 35 minutes away. Dustin gets to start "big" school this year he is so excited. Things are working out great for me right now.

Hope everyones week is going good so far. Mine should get better after Thursday as they have come in and finally cleared out the derailed cars at work and we are now running as normal as can be. It's been a horrible last few weeks but it's over!

I am finding reruns on Sundays, 11am western, 4pm western, and here and there (just a little addicted I must say)! If it has Phil attached I will find him damn it!!! I am so with Helen on the Phil / Johnathan deal, Phil all the way lady. I think Tuesday is a day long rerun day too so watch out.
