Happy Monday
What a week. Ever feel like you've been at the top of a mountain and then next minute got thrown off? Well, that's what life's been like in Kate's space.
First, a very best friend of mine passed away. I've known her since we were 13! Such great memories 40 years' worth of high school , college, married, kids, kids going to college, sittin on the beach, skiing - alot of skiing - and now she's not here. She was sick for a very long time, but this came unexpectedly. Geez. I've been so sad for days now.
Then, yesterday it was my birthday. Just 2 days a year I tell my family - pretend I don't live here, pretend you don't know me, and call me on the cell when dinner's ready - I'll come home! And there better be chocolate cake.
So I went to do what I love to do - get dirty - really, I love to get dirty. I went to work with my daughter who takes care of thorobred racehorses that are on mental health rest or boo-boo rest. Well, I gotta tell ya, these horses are so cool! Some a little nutty, but sooo cool. There were 3 babies too (oh I LOOOVVVE the babies!!!!) and they nearly wound up in the back seat for the ride home. TOO Cute! So I got very dirty working at the farm and loved every minute of it!
Then, the Super Bowl. What can I say - being from NJ, well, it was an unbelievable game. There was a whole lotta whooping and cheering in my house last night! My condolonces to our northern sistahs, but oh heck -YAY GIANTS!
So, from the depths to the top this week. What a ride.

Disbanded? Never! Once a sistah...always a sistah.
Many of us still talk, but we do it via phone and e-mail. And many of us actually get together in person. So we're here...anxiously waiting for the new
DCs and wishing all the captains and crews a safe and successful season.
Chester (DC Mascot) sends the guys wags and licks and hopes they stay safe. Chester loves his shirt and the fact that John and Phil both signed it...while he was still in it.

Helen -  Glad you had a chuck-le at my expense. I rare-ly find that amusing, but I 'm a big girl and I am capable of MOOving on. If you do attempt to wave a red flag in my direction, I just may have a T-Bone to pick with you. Hey everyone! I just got a call from the gorgeous Captain Phil! It was a complete surprise and I am still doing the happy dance! 
I mentioned his ever adoring fans and he thought we had "disbanded". I told him NOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! I told him that we have been quiet but that is usual for in between seasons and that when the show starts back up.....we will be all fired up again. He was quite pleasantly pleased to know he still has us on his side. Phil-i-licious.....we still love ya guy!
Anyways, they are still out fishing and the Bering hasn't been the kindest to them so we all need to keep the crews of all the boats in our thoughts and prayers.
I'll report back any other news I get yall. You can count on me! *wink*

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again.
The local paper read:
PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The next day, the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey.
The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline the next day:
NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the paper read:
NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.
The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The bishop was buried the next day.
The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery, and even shorten your life.
So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll be a lot happier

Hello ladies! Update on the fair: Ribbon wise, we didn't do too too good on. Trevor got 2nd place blue with a heifer, & 5th place red with the cow/calf pair, & also his steer, which he sold for $2.50 a pound. Colin got 2nd place blue with his pig, which he sold for $2.50 a pound, & 5th place red with the heifer & 4th place red with his cow/calf pair. (Funnily, this same judge placed this heifer as 1st blue in another show a few months ago??) HOWEVER, for the awards ceremony, my boys made me the proudest! Colin got Junior Herdsman for swine, earning him a nice belt buckle! Trevor got 3rd place Herdsman for his steer, but he got a trophy for Junior leadership!!! Those meant more to me than winning Grand Champion!
BUBBLES: Congrats on your hubby passing his test! that must be a big relief for ya'll!
STORM: Sorry to hear about your 1/2 sister. Peace to all - Ah-Ho.
CATHY: I jealous! I miss snow, and that picture was purty! Oh, and I'll go there - you may be a mother-in-law....but your certainly are not a MOTHER-in-law! lmao! 
THERESA: ok ok ok ok - no comments about "having a cow" or a "Hamburger drive thru"...I'm just glad you are ok, and not too "ground" (beef) up after your "moo-ving" violation. Did you at least blow the "horn" to warn them you were coming? Glad you didn't "steer" towards the river. I think it's "udderly" fantastic that there is only a small crack on your bumper. Glad to see you did call the "Cowifornia Highway Patrol". ok, I'll stop - I think I've "milked" this for all it's worth...at least I'm making myself smile! Hey y'all...it has been so long.
Time just doesn't slow down at all does it....I thought for sure once high school football season was over things would calm down....but nooooooo. I still had to get the concert uniforms out to the 3 bands. (and I am still not thru) but that will have take a back burner to my real job.
After getting hurt at work a few months ago and having to be on light duty (pay cut from field pay to office pay) I got "fired" by my clients mom because her supposed to be ex husband didn't like me after being with her for over 3 years..the next day I got a new case that is so unbelievable easy and fun...a 2 year old little girl...so since she weighs under what my weight restriction is...I am no longer light duty and bac a field pay....yay...maybe now I can pay my bills.
We went a while without internet...and let me tell you, that was very hard...I missed you all.
Lets see what else is happnig around here....I just started Dustin in gymnastics and he will be starting baseball in just a few weeks. I figured it was time for gymnastics when at 5 he already can do wobble free head stands and push up into a head stand and had already almost mastered a cartwheel. The gym he is at only has 2 other boys in his class and his coach was an alternate for the olympics a few years back. He says with some training Dustin has some real potential. I think we have his ADHD and OCD under control ... at least until his next little growth spurt
Manda has senioritis so bad...she struggled with her grades all first semester and ended up failing economics and has to take it now during evening high school.
I haven't had time to work on the cheat sheet and get people confirmed...hopefully in a couple of weeks I will start working only 40 hours a week and be off on the weekends I can get to all of the confirmations and update the sheet.

Happy Friday! Me and my cuppa tea today and waiting for it to warm up a bit from 15 degrees this morning to go out for a run/walk with the dog.It all depends on what the dog wants to do! And, we do need to muck the house out today. The dust bunnies are winning.
Firstly For Nancy: Well at first glance you may have thought you stepped into quite a nest here. However, I must tell you that if you spend a little time reading all that we post, you will see that mostly it's checking in with one another. Making sure we're all OK, catching up with everyone's events, and life -good or bad. We all just happen to have the same interest.
I don't think you can say we are typical fans - sure we like to talk about "our" captains, but when we post about them, it nearly always includes a prayer for safety.
Surely, there is someone or something you are a fan of? Human nature. It could be anything - there are chat boards for every interest. Well, you must have some interest in the Deadliest Catch, or you would not have found this board!? Stick around a bit and maybe your thoughts will change on what you think you stumbled on to here.
Cathy -Oh how I love snow - YOUR snow, that is - hee hee. Actually I really do, just not that much of it all at once! Spring's a comin' - it just has to !

Well...I was driving down a dark levy road last night and it was raining. All of a sudden I was staring at a wall of Cow behinds. I hit the breaks, began to skid, and considering there was a river on my left and a 10 foot drop on my right, I decided to to squeeze my car between two of the cows/bulls and only clipped the one on the left. (Thank goodness I drive a compact.) I had no place to pull over so I drove up to the next town and made about 5 calls from the convenience store before I got someone from the CHP. They informed me that they just had a call of a Non-Injury Collision between car and cow and asked me the location of where I saw the cows. Surprisingly enough...there was only a tiny crack on the bottom of my bumper...and I had to look twice before finding it. I hope the cow is ok. I hope, to her/him it was like someone running their shopping cart into the back of our ankles. An annoying incident, but not life threatening.
Some people have divine intervention ...I get bovine intervention.
By the way...the first person that tells me not to have a cow is in for a serious beat down.

Wow, it is nice to hear from some of you...I was wondering where you all have been!
I completely understand how life gets in the way of the simple little pleasures that you have for yourself. I guess in April when DC new season starts, then we will all need to take a few minutes and smell the roses...those roses being the amazing Captains and crews!
Nancy, just for the record, if I saw either John or Phil on the street (and did not know who they were), I'd probably do things not quite appropriate.... . Welcome to the site, I'm sure if you hang out a bit you'll find a lot more here than just some Men....
The ladies who have spent time with the men from DC have told enduring stories of their kindness, generosity to their fans in time and fund-raising activities. They all display an amazing sense of humor, for being out in the Bering Sea for months at a time.
Do not tell anyone, but I have heard those Hillstrand Boys have been raised right! We have been graced by amazing story tellers from this site and of the times other "sistahs" have met up at different functions on the Captains downtime. From what I can tell the ladies on this site and the men on the boats are really good people....and I do not think you can ever have too many good people in your life! Welcome Nancy, hope you enjoy the show and this site as much as we do!

we found out today that hubby passed his electrical exam!! woohoo! and we pick up our kitty tomorrow as soon as the shelter clears her. tabitha named her "ella" after an episode of blues clues where blue interviews cinderella and she tells blue that her and the prince had a baby and named her ella. pretty cute, i had to laugh though because growing up, there was a lady down the street, who had a very kind heart but was extremely neurotic and different and she came to mind when i heard that, lol.

Bonnie (Bubblesgood), thanks for the email asking me if I was okay. Yes, I am now, but like almost everyone else, it's been a rough couple of months (geez, is there's something in the air..everybody is getting smacked around). In my case, I lost a half-sister and family friend to spirit world, another close friend is very ill, 2 of my sons are having financial and/or marital problems, work has been INSANE. So, my personal life is okay, but everything around me is falling apart.
I do read the board quite a bit, just haven't had anything to say that wasn't depressing. Think of you all often. I finally moved my PC into my bedroom from a room that didn't have heat..so I KNOW I'll be on it more!

sooo soo much has been happening here. ok, first hubby took the electrical licensing test 2 weeks ago so we are kind of on pins and needles waiting to hear if he passed. that means he can have his own business which has been our goal for a while now. i also think that lack-o-nookie worked we pick up our new kitty from the shelter on friday. (EG, i knew id get my way). tab received an award from school they had a contest from nov 12-dec. 17 to see who the readers were, we read 80 books whew my eyes are now destroyed. last night when she was tumbling on the couch (which i have told her not to do a thousand times) she fell and walloped her face on the coffee table so now she has a nice shiner. then there is the hip hop class she joined, then the daisys, then the classmom and im working at the consulting firm from 10-2 and doing real estate along with it. uggghh. but hey at least life isnt boring! some day ill get in for a fill on my lapband, but for the first time i didnt gain over the holidays im thrilled. i did slow down though on the loss because during the holidays i didnt get my petutie to the gym which i have since rectified! and ouch yes it does hurt when you go back!! lol.
nancy, well honey, first be glad you found this site, youve received a blessing you arent quite aware of yet, because even though we are together based on a love for our captains and their show, we have also become friends, not just online friends but friends who truly care about each other and have each others backs i have talked on the phone to some and met one other in person. honestly tell me that if you saw any of those guys walking down the street looking like they do you wouldnt give them a second look? cmon now there isnt one fugly one in the bunch. i think part of the reason the show has such a draw is because in plain english there isnt any bullcrap, these guys are who they are every minute, from jonathans lil crab dance to phil yelling at his sons, and edgar making the new kid puke, theres no acting, they are funny, smart and down to earth. thats what makes us love them.
claudia it was so good to see you back again!!, i know the holidays are so rough that i got up xmas morning looked at the clock and thought oh poop! (youre right i didnt say poop i said something else) started running around getting things ready to run out the door and get tab to school when she yelled "santa was here!!!" frightening isnt it?

Hello my Sistahs!!! I know it has been a long time - life here has been very very tough - as I'm sure it has been for everyone!
My hubby is not working, so I've been working over-time & trying to juggle what little I do have left out of the paychecks! lol So if anyone is trying to send e-mail to hmonte@tampabay.rr.com addy, it will not come thru - as my internet is off @ my house now. If ya'll have read my blog on my my-space page, then you are aware we had to put 1 of our dogs down for Parvo. It was an extremely painful decision to do, and it was made after the vet's office lead us on for $2000 before letting us know that the outlook was not good. But at least Diesel is now at peace...
On a more uplifting note, we are in the middle of our fair time! My son Colin (the one who broke his arm when the capt's were in Sarasota...) finished showing & selling his pig. He got 2nd place blue, and out of 94 pigs, he was 18 in placing! I'm proud of him for that! This afternoon we start out BIG week with the Beef Breeding! My oldest, Trevor, is showing & selling a steer, and both my boys are showing a heifer & a cow/calf pair both!
Ok - I just got notice that this computer will reboot in 5 mins, so I guess I need to sign off. I hope everyone is doing well & I apologize for being long winded here! lmao! So here's waiting for the next season of DC to start........

Kate, I live in Lancashire the same county as Rossendale, so not far from your friend! She'll know where Wigan is, I'm about 10 minutes from there.
I love this site, it does keep you informed on the comings and goings but I love reading things the have been writing, they do make you laugh and smile.

Welcome Nancy - I know this site may seem a bit odd...especially if you stumbled upon it looking up a band leader...I started coming to the site because I liked the show and after reading the board a little, I also liked the friendly banter between the members. It wasn't all Phil Harris drool, and John swoon...ok...well maybe a little...I mean we do have a drooling and a fainting smilie, but more importantly, many of the people here had common interests...other than crab fishermen...and we also had common problems and tragedies occurring in our lives. People here were able to help give advice and support and just words of encouragement. Some of us also have had the pleasure of meeting face to face and strong and lasting friendships have formed. I still love the show...and I think what the guys do takes a whole lot of nerve and maybe just a little measure of crazy...but to sum it up...Originally....when I first arrived to this site it was for the guys...but I ended up staying for the sistahs.
OK...well...next time I'll update on my ever so boring but oh so hectic life.

Hi Everyone!!!! I've been missing you sooo much and I PROMISE to pop in a bit more than I have lately. Its been very hectic with the kids but things seem to be slowing down a bit since the holidays are over.
Welcome aboard, Nancy. I hope you'll stay around and SEE  how much fun we have around here. I have to agree with Southernelf.........we are truly Dreamboat Sistahs and we love when new people join in with us.
To answer some of your questions.
As far as whether any of us would give a second thought to either Phil or Johnathann without the show. I can honestly say that had there never been a show and I passed Phil on the street....YES, I would give him a second...third...and fourth glance. And I feel there are many here that share this with me for Phil and John. I do find Phil very attractive. However, whether he is on the show or not....that does not change the fact that I knew deep down after getting to know Phil a little bit that he and I would only always be friends. But hey....I think I got the better end of the stick because he never lets go of his friends.
Yes, Phil is/was seeing someone. The last time I talked to him, yes he was but I haven't talked to him recently (calls to my friends have been put on hold lately due to family things) so I couldn't say for sure whether he and Tambre are still seeing each other or not. Phil is not long out of a really nasty divorce and since I've known him....he's dated 3 different women. He's confided in me and some of his other friends that he is ONLY interested in friendship and truly enjoys the friendships he's made from his fan base.
I consider myself a friend of all three of the women Phil has dated but one of them is a VERY dear friend of mine and when she and Phil dated....that's all it was.....just two very good friends having a good time and enjoying life.
As for Johnathan. Again...I haven't talked to him recently for the same reasons as above but the last time I talked to him.....no he was not married. And in fact....he was having a SUPER blast playing the field. I had the distinct privilege of watching Johnathan in action back in August and he was having a blast. Myself and a few others were a tad worried about him during a couple of times but Captain Johnathan takes care of himself BIG TIME! *snort* *grin*
As for this board and all the drooling and excitement over the guys. I've talked to both Phil and John about this board on numerous occasions and they both think its cool and funny and flattering. So its not something they don't know about.
Also, I have plans ONE DAY to add Neal and Andy Hillstrand to this board but again.....the family has to take precedence over my friendship/fandom/silliness stuff.

Nancy, yes you have some valid points. But the most important thing about this site is: 1) ITS FUN!
2) We've formed some lasting friendships here, all started by mutual admiration of the "deadliest" crews.
We've become a "family," we share in each others triumphs, tragedies, give an open and honest "no judgment" shoulder if anyone wants it. If it weren't for this site, we would never have met.
Yes, I will never meet, talk to, get a card from, or acknowledgment of my existence from any of the Captains and crew. I admire them for their courage, for being so real. I love it when Johnathan gets a joke over on someone. He just laughs all over. I love it when Phil goes off on his sons, but always lets them know he loves them.
Edgar and his practical jokes are a hoot! Nick Mavar's evident love of his wife and family comes across. We know the trials of Matt's addictions, Corkey has his daughter with him, as well as a son. Ragnihld's fear and timidity touched us all. She triumphed over it, and we all applauded.
So if you want to form some lasting friendships, welcome to the board. We're glad to have you here. Who knows, after awhile you may love it as much as we do.

I'm just a bit curious about all this attention these guys are getting. I KNOW I may sound a bit cynical here, but aren't these guys the same ones, who nobody even gave a second thought to a few years back?
I mean, if there wasn't a show about what they do, would women still swoon over them like they are now?
Captain Phil is dating someone right?? and isn't Captain Jonathan married? I know this because I was actually intrigued by all this STUFF about them, when I was looking for something totally different. I'm just blown away.
It just seems to me that grown women are putting alot of energy into guys that they may NEVER meet, or have any hopes of "hooking up" with.
Yes, it's a bit odd that I am actually in this sight, but I was actually looking for an old time band leader by the name of Phil Harris, and all this came up along with a million other things about the Crab Boat Captains. My God !!!
I'm thinking that maybe, these guys should just be left alone to do the jobs they've been doing all along. Less intrusion might be safer for them.
I admit, I've watched the show a few times, because it's interesting, and because my boyfriend does contract work on Dutch Harbor, and I wanted to "see" what it's like for him. The glimpses that I get of Dutch itself, make me feel closer to him when he's there, and I'm here.

Yay! Home today! Planning on doing what I WANT to do today rather than what I HAVE to do today! We'll see how that works out! You know how it goes with the best laid plans....
Well, I've made one of those "Life Decisions" Uh Oh! Thinking about my second career. I'm going to get certified in equine and small animal massage so that I can have my own little business when I retire-whenever that is! But nice to do on the side to start building up a base. So, Dana! It looks like I'll be studying too. Hope I can get the cobwebs out. I was a bio major in school, and have been used to intense studying. We'll see if I can get all that back.
Jellyhead! I have friends across the pond - one has been a penpal since 1969 ! Really! She lives near Ely. And the other friend is up near Rosendale. Long story on how we met - lol ! But both are best friends and I miss them dearly being 6000 miles away. My Ely friend is coming over with her hubby in the fall tho, so that will be really nice!

Hello ladies!!! Welcome Jellyhead! Glad you found our group! These are the best bunch of ladies you will ever meet! How is everyone? Everything is going better here finally! The last time I checked in, Dylan had just had his big seizure. Okay, the doctor gave him a second seizure medication the following week and guess what? He had an allergic reaction which required another trip to the hospital! That poor kid! Bless his heart! However, he is doing great now! He has been real trooper and has handled all this pretty well. We have had a few episodes of "why me and how come?". but for the most part he has done great! I am very proud of him! Thanks to all everyone praying for us and keeping us in your thoughts! I was starting to wonder if this was going to be a sign of more seizures to come, but it appears that the computer was the trigger so we now know that he has to limit himself to no more than an hour with at least a two hour break if he needs to get back on it. We are also going to have to buy a screen thing to hang on the front of the computer screen to help reduce the waves and blinks that apparently his mind is seeing. The school has to buy one for him as well so when he is on the computer at school it will help reduce his risk of a possible seizure. His teachers have been really freaked out so I have had to go and speak with them and kinda train them on what to do in case he has one at school. He wasn't going to go back to school at first because he just knew he would have one and fall down the stairs or wet himself in front of his friends, but we have gotten past that fear so we are on the mend. I have started back to college to finish my degree. My first day was Monday and I have two tests tomorrow. Whatever happened to taking it easy and getting into a routine the first week? LOL!!! Not them! I have been slammed! Matter of fact I am taking a study break and am fixing to have to hit it again. I only have three or four more hours worth of studying to do and it is only 11:45 pm here! LOL!!! Well, I just wanted to give everyone an update and tell everyone how much I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! No snow today, not a flake. Funny how they posted heavy snow warnings for 12-15 hours last night, but predicted only 1-3 inches....hmmm, a mistake? YA THINK!!?? My son was ready to pop a gasket this morning when he found out there was not going to be a snow day. He lost out on some shoveling money....ah well.

Bubbles !!! Hey lady! Holidays were real nice! A few parties here and there, home with 12 for Christmas Day and by ourselves for Christmas Eve - that hasn't happened in years. Then a great New Year's Eve party with some hockey friends. Kids too. It was not quiet by any means. The boys played hockey in the basement and it was so hot down there that there was fog in the air LOL!!!

Good Morning All!!! OOppss, it's afternoon..crap where'd the day go??? OH yeah. I slept til 11:00....... I had a heck of a day yesterday! With Bank of America buying Countrywide, it threw everything off for me and my job. You see i work at Washington Mutual and that made the rumor mill go stark raving crazy about us!!! 
Well, everyone was freaking out because they thought they were going to lose their jobs and the "what if's" starting flying..... I was really glad when 4:30 rolled around and got the heck out of there.
Corey started guitar lessons last night and he loves it. It is great to see him so excited about something. He has been practicing ever since we got home last night and today. He isn't half bad either. I'm really glad he didn't take up the Tuba or the drums... OK I'm off to do something productive...at least until the football games start. The Jags are playing and I have to watch. Not because I like football or because I think they are going to win. (They are playing the Pats after all.) But, because I know the discussions on Monday are going to be about nothing else.
I'll be SO glad when NASCAR seasons starts.............

hey!!! my god ive been gone! first i was up in norwich, NY visiting my sister. i could not believe the snow was gone! ikk! but its still beautiful to me up there. xmas was a hoot funny how towards the end you forget what you bought for your kid and buy more! it took her over an hour to open gifts, lol. new years was verryyy quiet which im grateful for, i needed it.

i almost came home with a puppy, i was in the mall with tab and hubby and i went into a store there and in this cage was this lil tiny rat looking italian greyhound, he was so ugly he was cute!little and hairless and he kept looking at me while shivering it was all i could do to not ask to hold him, i looked at hubby and said hey hes italian we could name him luigi or mario? he didnt say no but he didnt say yes. uggg someday!! but i think id rather go to a shelter im not sure. either way im just going to have to do it and have him get mad at me, hes not leaving me a choice is he? lol

Good Evening Ladies!! I took today off from work so i could go to the chiropractor and get an adjustment. I really feel better. And, I had a doctors appointment with my MD. Nothing big just needed to get my Zyrtek refilled.
Kim - Thank you for the invite. Maybe next event. I thought I saw you but you had a lot of people with you and I couldn't get up the nerve. I don't usually go places by myself but I really wanted to see the Captains. I did try to get up the nerve to approach the table but no success. And, I do agree with the safety in numbers thing, I just don't have very many friends so I stay home most of the time. I am usually OK once i get into the situation, it's getting there that gives me problems.

Sunday's Report:
I got there about 2pm yesterday and parked my car. I wasn't sure how bad the parking would be but I was able to park at no charge in one of the parking garages.  Yay me! I started walking over a couple of blocks to where everything was going on. They had closed a couple of blocks off for this. I had no idea where the guys would be set up. I called Velvet and she & Wendy were at Barnacle Bills getting a bite to eat. They had gumbo and Velvet said it was pretty good. She's from LA so it must have been good as she would know lol. As I'm walking with the crowd & staring at some of the bikes I see the tables where Keith & John are set up. I got there just in time yesterday to see John take his shirt off! Thud!  Of course I didn't have my camera ready & probably wouldn't have taken a pic anyway. It would have been a little too groupiesh for me. He was just changing shirts so it was quick. I stopped to say hello and got hugs and big smiles from both Captains! All right! The day is off to a great start!  I told Velvet & Wendy and they were sad they missed it! lol They didn't know that the guys were all set up to sign. They were sitting next to Barnacle Bill (very nice man) and he said that Keith & Larry are coming back next July for the speed boat races they have every year over 4th of July weekend. So I know what I'll be doing that weekend lol. Actually I'm usually down there anyway for that. They have great fireworks over the bay. I'm not sure if anyone else is coming. It was really noisy with all the bikes. After they finished eating we went over to the corner where they had John & Keith set up. Roman(who was on Robbie Kneivils show/bike builder) was around the corner kind of set off by himself lol. He had maybe 1/2 as many people coming up to him and would come over to hang with John & Keith. I did get a picture with him for my boss Lynn who does like him. When I finally got John & Keith for a group shot he jumped in. He kept trying to do that all weekend lol with everything! He didn't seem to have as many fans lol Velvet & Wendy bought new shirts and changed into them. Velvet called Connie and both guys spoke with her. I think she pretty much had a melt down she was so happy & excited  The biker crowd was so incredibly friendly and I had fun talking with them. Brenda who was John's helper for the weekend was really cool to talk with and it turns out she's also from Mass and actually lived the next complex down from where I lived before moving where I am now! Small world! I had a little more then I planned on to drink. I made the mistake of having a thunder bomb (jack, cranberry juice & some energy drink gross!) after having had a long island iced tea and a 2 beers so that just pushed me over the edge . Luckily they had a buffet appetizer site set up at the after party so we all grabbed some food. Wings, crab cakes, ribs, and swedish meatballs. Everything was really good and the food helped alot. The band they had set up inside for the party was very good and while it wasn't too crowded there were people just singing along (especially during wanted dead or alive!) and kind of dancing. Velvet & I wanted to hate the Jack Daniels girs who were wearing leather bras, hot pants and chaps but after speaking with some of them they were nice so we couldn't lol. John was definetly enjoying them lol He stopped to talk with us while we were eating and he said something about all the girls to look at and I said I'd expect nothing less from him and he laughed. At one point I had said again that I was supposed to be hugging, kissing, slapping & pinching but I didn't want to get in trouble, so I just doing the hugging & kissing part. So he said how about I do the other half? Sure! He slaps hard lol After that it seemed every time I saw him I was getting grabbed to be hugged! No complaints here!  Velvet & Wendy left about 7:30, they hadn't slept and came straight there after getting off their shifts so Wendy was pretty tired and she was doing the driving. I left about a 1/2 hour later as I was talking to some people. I didn't see Keith to say goodbye. He kept disappearing lol. I did say goodbye to John and got another big hug! I told him to get his wrist looked at cuz all day he kept saying how it hurt and he thought it might be broken. I noticed he was trying to not use that hand. He was shaking hands using his left hand so for him to mention that it hurts more then once it must really hurt. These are tough guys so if they say it hurts it's got to hurt pretty bad. Cindy! You should have come over and introduced yourself! You would have been more then welcome to hang out with me Saturday and Sunday! It's easier to be less shy if you're not by yourself! Safety in numbers lol. I'm going to post my reports for the weekend that I've put up over on the bandita's site. I did go picture crazy on Sunday lol Luckily I brought more batteries cuz they died! I didn't take many on Saturday as I only stayed about an hour & half after John & Keith arrived. I felt like a dork standing by myself at that point lol so see Cindy! I'd have been thrilled to have someone to talk with other then the very nice security guard who had been teasing me all afternoon lol. So here's part one:
 What a great afternoon! Jackie & I met up in the parking lot at the local convention center where today's event was happening. It was so great to her again! {{{{Jackie!}}} We were able to walk right in thanks to my boss who gave me 2 passes and VIP bands so we were golden!  There were a ton of bikes and it was really noisy but I thought it would be more crowded but it was early in the day. We walked around looking at all the things for sale. There were some interesting items like a gigantic skull (why?) and some really nice jewelry that I liked but the check book said no. Oh well, I guess paying my rent is kinda important lol but not nearly as much fun! We grabbed some food from the BBQ place and then walked around a bit more. We saw where John & Keith would be signing and checked out the new shirts for both the Time Bandit & the Wizard. I now own both lol
I have to say I love both of the new designs they came up with. Very nice! We ended up seeing Keith and went over to say hi and he remembered us from back in August! Very cool! We ended up walking around for a bit with him while he looked around. He's such a nice man. Then it was about time for him to head back to start signing and about time for Jackie to head back home for her family obligations. I was so happy she drove all the way out here for a couple of hours! John hadn't arrived when she left so I was feeling bad  but guess who she ran into as she walked out? Yup our Captain John! So she was able to say a quick hello before hitting the road! There was a pretty good stream of people coming up for autographs for both of the guys but the line was never very long. Keith had some rain gear from the Wizard to dress up the little kids in which was so cute. Alot of times he & John would pose with the kids together. There was a National Guard stand next to us with a beautiful USA bike and they called the guys over so I have some pics of them with the bike. The lighting was on the dark side but you can tell it was them. John ended up giving them a bunch of the new shirts which was really nice of him. The guardsmen looked pretty psyched about meeting both John & Keith. After Jackie left and I had said hello I kinda stepped back and just watched everyone getting excited over seeing them. I stayed for a while but felt like a dork/stalker just standing there lol I did say hello from all the banditas and got a hug & a kiss on the cheek  Now I can't wait for tomorrow. I felt kind of out of place there as it was strictly all bikes and things associated with the bikes. Tomorrow will be more fun for me as there are alot of other activities going on plus some really good local bands that I enjoy. I will be attending the closing party tomorrow night at Barnacle Bills which is where they were last August.
