hello all!i have been away so long but it was not by choice, some of you who are on my space know what happened, ill fill you guys in only because im still terrified. back on jan. 30 i woke up with a what i thought was a stomach virus, im around kids at the preschool and thought i picked something up, sat. i was fine, sunday 2/1 i got up and put out signs for an open house and as i was doing that i felt a stabbing pain that kept getting worse until finally i realized after i got back home that i was going to pass out and managed to tell bobby to call an ambulance, i knew this wasnt good. i woke up the next day in the hospital, id had a hernia but pinched in that hernia was approx. 2.5 feet of intestines that had died off and come to find out i had gangrene. the doctor ended up removing 4 feet of my small intestines and i seemed to be ok , around 4pm the next day i suffered what they call ARDS, acute respiratory distress, my heart and lungs stopped, my blood could not oxygenate and i had total sepsis so for a couple of seconds i was visiting the other side. I could hear the nurses and dr.s telling me "youre going to be ok bonnie we're going to give you a breathing tube" and they put me out, i woke up a few days later in ICU i was on life support my mother was crying hysterically, my husband was a mess, my sisters were there, i could only move my hands i could not open my eyes or speak, all i wanted was to know where my daughter was and they wouldnt let her in because the life support tubes etc are frightening to a child but i didnt know i even had it!. Like our beloved captain phil i had to receive heparin shots a couple times a day in my stomach those s.o.b's hurt! because they were scared of clots etc and id developed pneumonia so i had I.V in my neck because they ran out of space on my arms and my arms had become so swollen and my mom wouldnt let them put them in my feet. ! i finally got home on february 16th. this past week i started getting pain in the center of my stomach, lo and behold i now have what they call an incisional hernia and i am going in for surgery tomorrow afternoon cross your fingers and say a prayer sistahs im so scared right now!

Hello my Sistahs! It's been a while since I...or anyone, looks like...have posted here. I just wanted to say HI & I'm still here.
Still don't have a home PC. My brother looked at both my other home PC's & has declared them both pretty much toast. I'm hoping he can get some information off them (mainly my music!) & I've decided that with what is left over from my tax return, I'm going to buy a new one. This not having it @ home is for the birds! lol

hello sistahs!!!!!!! Hope all of you are doing well in the New Year!!! Things could be better here. Im havin major lanlord peoblems. This guy likes to listen in on my phone conversations and my boyfriend was spending my nites off with me and he wanted to up the rent to $800 a month. He cant do that unless he is living with us. He isint he was just spending the nite. It is so freaky when he starts yelling at his children. We can hear him tellin his son how he is worthless and he should go outside with the dog cause thats all he is. We endured 3 hours of hearing him screaming at his son!!!!! 3 HOURS!!!!! Plus he is drinking alot. He talks so loud up there we heard him talking bout how he went down in our apartment one mornin before we came home from work and made himself coffee with our coffee maker. He is a pervert to say the least. We have a month to month lease and are looking for another apartment in a complex. Not residential. We dont talk to him at all. We talk very low down there so he wont listen in. Im not lettin him get me down tho. I know we will find a better place soon. It will just take a lil time. Everyone at work has been sick for so long and i thought that i skipped out on bein sick haha i thought wrong!!!!!!!! I have a cold but im taking it easy and takin theraflu. That stuff really works!!!! it snowed here earlier it was nice to see for a change.
Dana - I hope you are feeling better and why the heck cant they figure out why you have so much kidney stones. Thats crazy. I really hope you have some comfort and they come out faster. I love ya!!!!!

Hello Sistahs! I hope this finds each of you well! It has been tough here! Besides my Dad and his lung cancer, Dylan is ill with tonsillitis and an ear infection which triggered 2 more seizures during Christmas break. As a matter of fact, they started back to school Tuesday and he is still home. This is the sickest he has ever been with them, but in a way it was good because I FINALLY got his Dad to agree to the surgery. You probably remember he was supposed to have his tonsils out and his deviated septum fixed a couple of years ago and Mike freaked out and refused to agree to it. I think it scared him, the thought of Dylan having to go through all of that while dealing with the progression of his seizures all at the same time, but I am grateful that he has finally agreed to do it. I could have had it done without him having to sign anything, but that would have made him feel as if his opinion as my husband and Dylan's father didn't matter and I couldn't do that to him. I am just grateful that it is going to be done. We go see the surgeon in two weeks and will do the surgery over spring break. We are going to be able to do both surgeries at one time instead of having to do two separate surgeries, which is good because before it would have been two surgeries. I have been in the hospital. I started passing a kidney stone a week ago Sunday and by New Year's Day, they admitted me into the hospital to try and flush them out. While I was in there they decided to do an IVP, that is where they inject an iodine solution into your IV then take X-rays. It is a contrasting solution and the stones are supposed to be more visable, which they usually aren't. Not one time has an IVP ever caught my stones on film. Go figure! Well, I ended up almost going into anaphylactic shock because I had an allergic reaction to the iodine. They had doctors and nurses running in and out of X-ray from the ER. I have no idea what all they put through my IV, but I was drugged beyond consciousness and not in a good way either. They let me come home Saturday evening, but I am still working on the stones. They aren't stuck, but they are moving at a snail's pace. I don't have an adult size right kidney or uretha or ureter tube so it is like taking a grass burr and trying to pass it through a ball point pin tip. That's a wonderful image huh?!? I have to laugh because there isn't anything else I can do. If I don't pass this by next Monday, they are putting me back in the hospital for another round of fluids. They won't do surgery unless it is an absolute emergency because of the scar tissue I already have. They don't want to make things worse. Needless to say these 2 stones (one is 4mm and the other is a 3mm) are excruciating and really starting to piss me off! lol!!! These 2 now make 339 I have passed and I still have 5 more in the kidneys. I am going to a research hospital in February in Temple, Texas and see if they can help me. I am not real optimistic because I have gone to specialists, urologists, nurphrologists, etc. since I started having them at 13 and they all say the same thing. They don't know why I have them and they can't help me. So, keep your fingers crossed that they can help me!

I hope everyone is doing okay and had a good Christmas. This has been a difficult month for our family. My step-Dad, as I said before, has lung cancer and fibrosis of the lungs. He was in the hospital all last week and got to come home Friday. Then last night my Mom had to take him back to the hospital and they admitted him. I got a phone call from my Mom this morning and my Dad's right lung is no longer funtcioning and the left lung is full of fluid and cancer. They are going to give him once round of Chemo to see if the cancer reacts to it at all, but the doctors told my Mom that she shouldn't get her hopes up that it probably isn't going to work and if it doesn't then it will be just a matter of days to weeks. The news today made a day that was already hard for my family that much harder. It was ten years ago today that my cousin was killed in the line of duty. Then to top of the situation, I was in the ER Sunday morning at 4:30am and I am currently trying to pass two kidney stones that are the biggest I have ever passed. One is 4.5mm and the other is 5mm. I will probably have my doctor admit me tonight over night to get some fluids and try to push them along then check out in the morning. I am hurting so bad and am not getting any relief. So, I need my sistahs to pray, send good thoughts, what have you. We need all the prayers and people talking to God that we can get. Thank all of you for always being there for me during the tough times and for letting me get this out. I love each and every one of you. I hope that you have a safe and Happy New Year and my wish for each of you is that you have a new year full of love, happiness, good health, good friends, and laughter. i cannot believe we have a 2 hr delay the roads are friggin fine uggh! oh dana i just read down to your post on thanksgiving, oy i can definitely relate to always getting the lead position, my problem is once i do everything theres some idiot who made cupcakes 6 months back saying it was their work! lol. then im the one who always gets called to drive back and forth to school i had one dad omg i finally told him he had to go, his gf was in rehab he has custody of his 2 daughters from a previous marriage, his kids and mine are not bussed to school until they go to a school across town in so until tab is in 6th grade i have to drive her and pick her up, its not bad because the school is 2 blocks away and on nice days we walk it. well, while this guys gf was in treatment i felt bad because he was saying how he had a hard time getting his kid to school, so i told him if he was ever in a bind to call. STUPID BUBBS at least 2x a week i got a call now mind you he lives on the other side of town so i had to get up 20 mins earlier to help etc. the one day i pulled up because his gf who is now out of rehab is there and called. she said he had work at 6am so i get there and there is his car in the driveway plus another one!, she was all flustered and remarked that she doesnt drive. then he called and said can you pick her up my axel broke, yet that morning after his call i saw him at the local convenience store getting coffee.Over the summer i had called them because tab and i were heading to the beach and she wanted his daughter to come along. he answered and said "oh we're down the shore but we'll be home tonite, we can get them together maybe tomorrow" i called the next day, no answer, all summer we never heard from them, until...the day before school started and guess what? their kid needed a ride. then he asked if i could pick her up and bring her home the whole next week, finally i said look im not your cab driver i dont mind helping out once in a while, but this is ridiculous, i have to drive across town to pickup and dropoff your kid when i only live 2 blocks from the school, i really wouldnt have a problem with it but not once have you ever said, "gee if you pick up today ill pick up tomorrow" the favor is never returned i think you need to find someone else to use. needless to say he and his gf dont even wave to me at school when we pick up our kids. watch what you say and watch who you help honey! lesson learned!

Wow! The boards are quiet!!! If you listen, you can hear a pin drop!!! lol!!! I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was good! I am sitting here watching the DC marathon and it is sooooo hard to watch the episodes where Phil's health got bad. It is a cruel reminder that we almost lost him!!! But, glad to hear that he is back in the captain's seat where he belongs. Just shows how tough Phil is and it is going to take a lot more than a little bloodclot to keep this man down!!! I am finishing up the last two weeks of school. I was hoping that one of the captains would take my accounting and business statistics professor and use him for crab bait! This guy is a real pain in the ass!!! It is so nice to know that my money is helping to pay his salary! This hasn't been a real great semester. Between being in the hospital with kidney stones...again (I still have two more to go), all the people who were so gung ho on helping to raise money and do fundraisers to help purchase a memorial for the fallen law enforcement officer's of our county, basically bailed. So, once I am through with this semester, I am going to get to work on it and apparently by myself. It really hurt. In ten years, officer's have come and gone and so many are new they never had the privilege of meeting my cousin, but he was still "family" along with the other 12 who have lots their lives and it pisses me off that they aren't being shown more respect than they are. So, I am going to put together some fundraisers and do all the media plugs like I did before and I WILL raise the money for the monument. The plan is a go from the County commissioners so I will step up and take charge. My husband always gets angry with me when I do that. No matter what it is, even volunteering at Dylan's school, I am put in charge some how. Luckily, I will be back in school instead of taking all my classes on the internet next semester so that will free up a lot of time for me. I have a few autographed items from celebrities to sell in the fundraiser just sitting in my guest room/library and I know the items can bring in some decent money, so I have to get going. Hey T.- glad to hear you are out and about! Miss hearing from you and Bunny. Lucky duck you have a man, still dreaming and scheming sadly. How are the fuzzes? The pooper is up and running as usual and was at her first party today: pumped full of sugar= no sleep for me I am guessing.
Everyone who is becoming a grandma for the first time; my mom went stupid when the pooper came along so be prepared because you will too- it comes with the baby. Enjoy it though.

Well, work has been busy and I am seeing a great guy who, unfortunately, is even busier, but we find the time to see each other. I hope I will be able to announce my one year anniversary the same time you are announcing your 2 year, Gayle. Or maybe you will be making another kind of announcement  .
Well I am maid of honor at my friend's wedding next weekend so I need to go get a bunch of things done. Hope all of you are happy and healthy. Claudia...our slightly MIA, but always appreciated Grand Poobah....thanks for all you do.

Gayle, I'm very glad to hear you are getting better. Hope you are finished with hospital visits. I lurk and read here & have missed your postings. I have been very grateful that you, Deb and Claudia have shared your friendship with Phil & Johnathan with all of us who will most likely never get a chance to meet them ourselves.
This seems to be a very bad time for a lot of folks -- my brother was in intensive care and on life support this week; the hospital staff was truly caring and he made it through, but long term prognosis is not good. We take it day by day. I can't say I'm happy with the way doctors dart in and only want to give the family a few minutes, if that. No more bedside manner.
I read the Best Friends website every day -- what wonderful & caring people!! Especially to senior dogs that are given up by their owners. A very very special place. I can't think of anything better than to move close to it and volunteer there every day. Only problem is it's so darn far from any major cities!

Me again.
I just talked to Phil, and he's at the airport heading back up to Dutch to do some work on the boat. He is feeling good. He's coming to our Halloween party next weekend, so I will try and get pics for you guys. Also, Brian and I went out with Johnathan a couple weeks ago and he just got his Fatboy back from the painter. It is FABULOUS!!!! We got some cell phone pics which I will transfer over to the computer and try to post them. It is the MOST BEAUTFUL thing I've ever seen. He had it painted with the TB and various ocean themes. Sorry the pics wont be great, but you'll see how impressive it is. Brian had to drive Johnathan home, and now they are best buddies...Im just chopped liver  Thats ok, Im glad my 2 favorite guys are friends. They have alot in common.
So thats what I've been up to when not in the hospital! 
Brian and I are planning to move to Kanab, Utah when the economy improves. I want to be near the Best Friends animal sanctuary, and work there, and die there! Its the MOST wonderful place on earth, and the area is stunning. We are driving down over Thanksgiving to check it out. So if anyone is familiar with the area...LET ME KNOW!

Thank you all so much for the kind words. I have had 3 major surgeries since Aug. 22, and one ER visit, but doing just great now Luckily the surgeries were mostly laproscopic, so I can still wear a swimsuit...well, maybe not a swimsuit!
The gallstones were actually the size of grapes, but still BIG for gallstones, I guess.
Claudia, my dear friend...thank you for the "Broom Repair" I will talk to you very soon.
Ragnhild is going to the casino with us this weekend to celebrate Brian and my 1 year anniversary. She will be busy today arranging travel for the Katmai family to Dutch, and bringing the survivors back. She works for the fisheries travel division. Very sad day...

Survivors rescued after boat disappears off Alaska(CNN) -- The Coast Guard has rescued four fishermen after their boat went missing in Alaskan waters Wednesday, a spokesman said. Two others are still missing. According to The Associated Press, the fishermen were discovered in the raft near the Amchitka Pass, which links the Bering Sea to the Pacific Ocean about 1,400 miles southwest of Anchorage. I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, 'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.' So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Captain Morgan, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Xanax prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how good I feel right now!!!

This is my first time posting! I was thrilled to find this sight. I have to share my story of actually meeting and getting to spend some time with John Hillstrand. My daughter and I were at a book signing here in Colorado. We were next in line to meet John and Andy when John asked for a break to smoke. Well my daughter heard him and just happened to comment on how having a smoke sounded great since we had been in line for such a long time. Well John heard her and invited us along! He is so nice and more sexy in person than you can imagine. We got to take pictures of us each getting nice nice cozy hugs. It was so much fun! I hope everyone gets the chance to meet him and Andy as they are so real and make you feel like they are just as thrilled to meet you!
